The Friends of the Walworth-Seely Public Library (WSPL) is based in Walworth, NY, a town of approximately 9,000 people located in western Wayne County between Lake Ontario and the southern tier. While mostly rural and known for apple growing and other agriculture, we also have wonderful neighborhoods. Several different school districts service the children here in Walworth. The Walworth-Seely Public Library is located at the Town Hall Complex on Lorraine Drive, just east of the Routes 350 and 441 intersection at the top of a hill. At the bottom of the hill is the beautiful Ginegaw Park. During the summer of 2007, many community members got together and volunteered to build a new playground at the park and added some slides at the adjacent soccer fields too.

The Friends of the WSPL is also a member of the national organization of Friends of Libraries, called FOLAUSA - Friends of Libraries USA. We try to follow the guidelines set down by the national organization and participate in lobbying for cotninued funding at the local and national levels. Each year we support a busload of people who travel to Albany to lobby local legislators for continued support at the state level. We also participate in a virtual March on Washington that is organized by FOLUSA. If you would like more information about FOLUSA, please visit their website at folusa.org
