Welcome to the Friends of the Walworth-Seely Public Library website. Our group was organized in 2003 and incorporated in 2005. Our goal is to promote the Walworth-Seely Public Library in as many ways as we can and to provide materials which are not in the library's budget.

In 2007, Friends obtained tax-exempt status from the IRS with a successful application for 501(c) (3) status. This means that books, money and other items donated to the Friends are tax exempt according to the laws of the IRS in effect at the time of the donation. Businesses as well as individuals can make contributions to the Friends and take deductions on their income tax return under charitable contributions. These donations will benefit the library.

The Friends organization provides many programs for the community. These include maintaining the on-going book sale in the library and home delivery. If you have difficulty getting to the library, the Friends will bring the library to you! Friends’ volunteers also gather and arrange the contents of the children's display case in the library.

Annual dues are as little as $5 for a single membership. Meetings are the third Wednesday of the month at 6:00 PM in the library program room (except for November and December when they are the second Wednesday). You do not need to be at the meetings to help the Friends organization.

If you would like to become a member of the Friends of the Walworth-Seely Public Library, please send us an e-mail or print out a brochure and fill in the membership form on the back.

We hope you stay a while and visit. Learn more about Friends, and read about the latest books available at libraries, and some Friends' reviews.
